Art League History

Fifty years ago ten members organized the group that has 147 members today. Since 1965 our volunteer efforts have raised funds to provide scholarships for students without the resources to study art, teacher conference fees, educational lectures and workshops. We have made acquisitions for the permanent collection of the Art Museum and helped pay for restoration of other art works. Wall coverings, sound systems, kitchen appliances, tables, dishware and the remodeling of the Manya Fan Education Center were funded in part by Art League funds. Over the years our members have served as docents, run the gift shop, the rental gallery and hosted many opening receptions. We hope you will contribute to the Art League Endowment Fund as we look forward to continuing our work for the next fifty years (forever) for the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette.
